Foundation

The mission of the "Stare Powązki" Foundation is to preserve the heritage and historical character of the Powązki Cemetery in Warsaw, the final resting place of many generations of Poles.

The Foundation was established at the initiative of the Archdiocese of Warsaw, the custodian of the necropolis, to preserve and promote the cemetery's unique historical and artistic value, also on a European scale. The cemetery is a pantheon commemorating more than two centuries of Warsaw's history and its residents.
